The Peralta Project: The Rob & Hood Theory

"Witness art in Progress" is the tag line that sums up The Peralta
Project. Conceptualized by Artist/Graphic designer, M.Tony Peralta in
2006; Peralta launched his long time dream of having a t-shirt line, with
his most popular painting,"GAZA STRIP" aka "FREEDOM." More than just a
collection of cool Tees, the Peralta Project is an extension of M.Tony's
artwork from canvas to t-shirts. These shirts are another outlet for
Perlata to exhibit his work and deliver his message.
For his summer series, M. Tony came up with the theme "The Rob & Hood
Theory." The series touches on the concept of being "Revolutionary
But Gangster". The legendary Robin Hood stole from the rich and gave to
the poor, Tony's "Rob & Hood" jacks the rich to become wealthy. It's a
metaphor for using the system in your favor instead of getting caught up
in the system. "So many people love to glorify the gangster life style,
from Sarface to the Godfather. That type of lifestyle glorifies negativity
and violence. With the Rob & Hood theory I wanted to create a balance to
the negativity. If you're going to be gangster be a smart gangster. Rob the
system, not your people" Says M.Tony Peralta. Be like some real gangster
like the Black Panthers, Young Lords, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King"

The theory is solid, check out their website here.
