I first started skating when I was younger, probably around the age of 8-10. I had a dope Nash Razor deck with neon blue wheels. My boy Brian and I would search for the biggest hills to go down, we were never really into tricks and maneuvers, just want to go as fast as possible. Fast forward 12 years and I'm back with new decks and a new style. When I first started skating again I created my own version of a cruiser. I used an old-school short deck and super-sized soft Zig-Zags with risers. This joint was OD fast, but unfortunately my skating re-emerged while I was still in college at racist ass University of Delaware. So I pretty much endured random racial slurs, and even almost got hit on my way to class! UD was wack...even this slide joint Steph tried to say "skateboarding is for white guys"...and now she's a fiend for DCBG...anyway the moral of the story is do what you want to do...Skateboarding has no color requirement.
