Feast Review 3: Napolean Bistro/Lounge

For this Feast Review I asked my girl Annie to lunch. She suggested this restaurant she'd been wanting to try in Adams Morgan called Napolean. Don't let a first glance at the menu fool you like it did me. I was under the presumption that this was a French restaurant...no no they have a few items on their menu that can be considered French cuisine...but that's it. The ambiance here was very chill. We sat outside, and although we were seated close to a main street it was relatively quiet. We weren't all that hungry so we made it a light meal.I got the Ceasar Salad with marinated chicken. I didn't know it was standard to just throw someone an entire stalk of ice-berg lettuce and call it a salad? I can't even front though, besides the unusual presentation the salad was delicious. I don't even eat salads like that, but this was prepared well. The chicken was seasoned well with the right amount of lemon and garlic to compliment their signature Ceasar dressing. Lucky for me they didn't douse the whole plate with dressing or I would have been tight. The serving size was perfect for a quick lunch, and surprisingly this salad was filling.Annie ordered the house salad with a side of salmon. Her salmon looked delicious and she devoured it instantly! The salmon was well done, nice and light but filling enough for lunch. There is something about eating outside that chics just dig, so Napolean got a few cool points from Annie on the secluded outdoor atmosphere. This restaurant is good-money for a lunch date, or business lunch meeting. You'll be surprised how quiet and comfortable the outdoors is relative to its close proximity to a major street. Although we only got salads, a few people around us got sandwiches that looked pretty appetizing. Our server Jean Luc was a chill guy, hooked up the iced green tea and kept it flowing. We got our food pretty fast too. Be sure to check this place out, we strongly recommend it as your next first/second date/business lunch spot. Great place for a stimulating conversation. The next visit here will be for brunch or dinner.

  1. jonna put me on the blog.

napoleon's is fucking GREAT. but you have to be breaded (read: have some money in your walllet) to eat here on a regular basis. the food portions are small for a regular price, and normal for a outlandish price. but the food is superb, and that's my go-to move if i go on a date. we're going there.
