North Face Purple Label: Pertex

It's good to see The North Face enjoy success with their more fashion influenced Purple Label. Lately they've released a subtle, lightweight hooded jacket which is perfect for unsuspected rainy days. The Jacket features Pertex Microlight fabric which is a 30 denier microfiber nylon weighing 1.3 oz per square yd. Due to the combination of microfine filament yarns and extremely close weave, Pertex fabrics are inherently highly windproof thus providing a total barrier to penetration by insulation fibers. The fabric's high density weave enhances insulation by trapping more air and because Pertex is so lightweight and low in bulk, the loft of the insulating material is maintained. It's also easy to smash up and store in your back-pack until you see rain. All this is available now at Reinforce.
