Movie Monday: Dark Knight Week

Dark Knight Week!

So I've been waiting for this week since I saw Batman Returns and proceeded to name my car The Dark Knight. This week at eF we celebrate the second coming of one of the best and most realistic comic book stories EVER. Here’s a few guidelines to help you maximize your Dark Knight Week experience. Check back for daily updates.

#1 Don’t watch any more Trailers!! I know I say this about every movie but you’ll be paying at least 8 dollars to watch this movie…do you really want to watch all the good scenes before you even spend your money? Didn’t think soo…

#2 do some research on The Joker and Harvey Dent. They will play prominent roles in this film.

#3 Check out Batman Unmasked on the history channel this week Wednesday at 9pm or Thursday at 1am.

#4 Cop the new Batman Gotham Knight DVD. I know its cartoons but there are 6 of them and they show Batman’s transition from Batman Begins to The Dark Knight. Very similar to the Animatrix DVDs…CRACK!

#5 Check out one of Frank Miller’s (the man who wrote the graphic novels behind Sin City and 300) Dark Knight comic books or novels. We will be following these guidelines and hope some of these can help you make the best of this experience.

Ps…as usual fearless LeaDor got the exclusive on the showing so we sill be having that review of The Dark Knight posted off the ASAPIE! Oh yea…eat your vegtables!

Here are a few terms we actively use in our blog. We want to make sure our readers understand our slang, it just makes the experience more enjoyable.

OD - This term stands for "Over Dose". It means when something is crazy wild in a good way, or too extra in a bad way. Walking down the DC streets wearing Teva sandals, socks, and shorts in the winter time is OD! In the same respect, the new Mercedes Benz C63AMG is OD!

Dope - We use this quite a bit when talking about a product or movie, it's just another word for cool

Crack - Not as controversial as it sounds, we use "crack' to describe something that is just out of this world fresh. We may say something like: That new EF post is CRACK!!

Went In - When a rapper shows extreme lyrical ability in a verse or whole track.

Rastio Lyool - A close friend to the EF family. Originally from Africa Rastio migrated from Jamaica to Brooklyn, NY. He played a large role in the "eh doesn't affect me" movement of the 90's. Rastio is like Tommy off Martin, ya digg.

Fux With It - We use this when referencing something we really like. If your in Stussy or CmonWealth and you see a crack pair of kicks you'd say: "oh these are crack, I fux with them"!

Huff - use this when you talk about something WACK...Like if you see dude rocking some Kool-aid Reeboks, you'd say "damn, his shoe game is HUFF" you can also use the term to describe when you get carried. So if you're talking to a shorty, and you ask for her number, she looks you up and down, blinks 3 times and walks away...you got HUFFED!

Teleport - This converts a person or object into an energy pattern (a process called dematerialization), then "teleports" it to a target, where it is reconverted into matter (rematerialization)...in short it lets you read the full post

Takedownables - This is a new term DCBG created to describe dimes or beautiful women who are simply irresistible, and therefore must be taken down accordingly. Being a takedownable is the ultimate status and compliment, better than winning Ms. Universe or World's Sexiest Woman.
