Alife Rivington Club - Saucony Shadow 6000

The Saucony Shadow 6000 collaboration with ARC has produced another dope pair of chill kicks. This time produced a grey and a burgundy colorway. These type of kicks are ideal for chill days when you have errands and sh*t to do but don't have time to get OD fresh. Just toss a pair of these on with a nice pair of Levis and make sure to rock them the way you see them above. This is a chill shoe, so wearing the tongue and laces a little lose conveys this steez. Keep them spotless and top it off with some type of functional jacket and you're good to go. ARC will be releasing the grey and burgundy colorways of the Saucony Shadow 6000 in mid December. Teleport for more pics

Issey Miyak Trapezoid Watch

Made for fashion label Issey Miyak, designer Naoto Fukasawa brings us this Trapezoid Watch, which comes in a variety of colors - like the Fall woodsman color-up above. You're looking at a solid watch design here. From the strap styling to the face...what really stands out in the design is the sloping bezel, which cleverly displays numbers that are stretched like road markings so that they appear normally when seen straight-on. Imaginary Foundation Galaxy Boards

Wow, I'm smacked, but as soon as I saw these galaxy boards, it was a wrap. I gotta have one of these joints, then kit it out with some old-school modifications. Imaginary Foundation recently got together with Element on four limited decks using some out of this world designs we’ve previously seen on tees. The decks are currently available through Element’s website.

Theater Of The Mind, Ludacris' Major Music Review

The highest-selling Southern hip hop solo artist is back with his sixth album, I swear it don’t even feel like Luda been in the game that long. His latest LP “Theater of the mind” dropped yesterday along with his label mate Kanye West. I don’t know why Def Jam is doing that but its being done, maybe it’s because there albums are completely different. Theater of the Mind sounds more like a classic mixtape than an album because of all the features or “co-stars” as Ludacris likes to put it. The buzz surrounding Theater of the Mind faded a bit because his singles off the album are so radio friendly (actually too radio friendly), but if you skip pass his current singles “what them girls like” and “One more Drink” every song on this album is crack. Yea I didn't stutter, crack...teleport for the full review

Last Of A Dying Breed f. Lil Wayne

Lyrically speaking Ludacris went in on this album especially the track with him and Weezy called “Last of a dying breed”, his 1st verse is untouchable and Lil Wayne came off too. Ludacris even goes hard on his “intro” on his album. The Game is also co-starring on the track “call up the homies”, it’s a crack concept song which Ludacris is showing his versatility as a complete MC and not just a bunch of punch lines. “Southern Gangsta” co-stars Rick Ross and that song has Ving Rhames talking over the hook and Luda and Ricky Ross go in on this Maybach music inspired track. Don’t sleep on Ludacris because he even held his own with Hip Hop Heavy Hitters Billionaire Hov and Nas on the track “I do it for Hip Hop”.Ludacris recruited some of the best producers in the game right now like Swizz Beatz, StreetRunner, Don Cannon, Scott Storch and a few up in coming producers. The beats on this album are ridiculous and all the tracks on the album fall into place like a movie. This hands down has to be on Ludacris top 3 best albums if not #1. I know that’s a bold statement but this album is that Crack. Add it to your playlist.

Marijuana Nation, A National Geographic Special

Well, the title pretty much speaks for itself. Should be a great documentary on the real story behind the war on marijuana. Make sure you mark your calendar for December 2 when this joint airs. The trailer is dope, step into the pot jungle:

Nokia Lee: Tech Tuesday

Damn I was really sleepin on Bruce Lee's ability as a kung-fu master...sh*t is OD. Check out this new Nokia commercial featuring Lee in a nun-chuck training exercise. This is extreme precision! So basically you'd get OD f*cked up if you tried to check Bruce Lee back in the day.

Supreme Winter Beanies

In time for the Chrismahanukwanzakah, Supreme has released the “Snowman” beanie. The beanie comes in a few colorways and features a snowman graphic in the fabric. Aahhh...looks like Frosty is enjoying that reefer pipe and T-paine hat. It is now available in Supreme stores and in the online store. Scientific research shows that you lose most of your heat through cranial dispersion...or so says Rastio. Cop a beanie, stay warm, look fresh.

Astro Boy Trailer: Movie Monday

Man, they must being trying to remake ALL of the childhood classics! Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with inter-galactic powers created by a brilliant scientist to replace the son he has lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving father's expectations, Astro embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, experiencing betrayal and a netherworld of robot gladiators, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the man who had rejected him. Looks dope, gotta love the classics.

The Retro Kids, Keeping It Old School

Here's a little segment on The Retro Kids...I'm trying to figure out how I feel about these dudes...the gear is definitely spot on in terms of being Retro. The hair style they rock is OD...the hi-top gumby fade with minimal coloring...It kinda reminds me of that old Vanilla Ice movie Cool As Ice. I wouldn't rock it, but these dudes, and chic pull it off. Karmaloop catches them partying at a spot in Boston, looks like a fun time. With the hair and all I wonder what these guys do for a day job?

808's & Heartbreak: Kanye West's Major Music Review

Fresh off the AMA win Mr. West is back with his fourth album 808s & Heartbreak and its set to debut November 24th. This album was a big surprise to be honest because I was already writing it off as a Huff version of Andre 3000's "Love Below" and Pe$0 can co-sign that haha, but 808’s and HeartBreak is a good album and perfect alternative pick. This album has 11 tracks and each song has a similar vibe to make the album a complete package. Some songs like “streetlights” and “say you will” are good tracks, but they would have been even better tracks if he wrote or produced it for someone like Chris Martin or Santogold. Tracks like “Paranoid” and “Amazing” have more of Kanye West vibe and they could have been on any of his previous albums. Teleport to listen to "Amazing" and read the rest of the review:

"Amazing"

Ye also has a duet with no other that Lil wayne on the track “See you in my nightmares”. This album only has room for one Rapper/voicebox singer. That song would have been a crack collabo if Lil Wayne would have just spit a 16 like how Young Jeezy did on “Amazing”, instead of singing and sounding like trash. You can tell Weezy was trying to outshine Ye but he was unsuccessful.Kanye West 808’s and Heartbreak won’t be a waste of time if you add it to your current playlist. It’s different and not annoying like I thought it would be and I definitely recommend it.

Resonate Winter Fish Tail Coat

Resonate has a dope new coat as part of their new Fall/Winter collection. The brand has been one of the key players to watch in this seasons last minute releases. But then again winter is just beginning. "This release enhances the image of the label, this fish tail duffle coat has been expertly finished with the great wool material completed with a fine lining". To be honest, the hood strings look a little skimpy, not sure what's really good with that. Wear this jacket fitted but not too snug, leave room for those winter layers. It comes in 3 colors, blue and black...I'd stick with this grey joint though.

Jay-Z, Young Hov Is Back For Good?

So maybe all the "Old Hov" post have been really circulating. Whatever the case may be, it seems that since we started the Old Hov nickname of Jay-Z he's been struggling to get back to Young Hov status. He was dressing a lil bummy and now he's trying to pull his sh*t back together. When you get those millions, all that bread makes you feel too comfortable, you start not caring how you look. But as we see here, Hov threw a few pieces together for the Cavs game the other day. The fit aint 100% but its def improvement Hov. Nice shades buddy, keep up the good work.

Santo Domingo A Trip Down Memory Lane

While cleaning the crib today I randomly found some old pics from when I went on a journey to my first paradise. They're scanned, so bare with me! It was the summer before 9th grade at Maret high School, what a great year that was to be alive. Anyway, the voyage was to Santo Domingo, home to amazing white sand beaches, delicious meals of food, and some of the most beautiful women on the planet. My trip there was eye opening, I went with a group of students to help build a new church in a small village, and take/distribute school supplies to children at a local orphanage. In order to go on the trip we had to raise money for plane tickets, hotels, and supplies all by ourselves. To do this we asked for donations from businesses and schools in the DC area. The long months of fund-raising definitely paid off once we arrived at the school and saw how happy the children where to have an early X-mas. it's cold as sh*t here in DC...teleport and the tropical adventure begins!

This is Minette. She was my lil buddy for the time I was in Santo Domingo. Each student got partnered up with a small child at this orphanage. She's probably one of the cutest babies on this side of the galaxy. When I walked in she just walked up to me and stretched out her arms like I was her father. So for the next few days while we worked, she was in my arms non stop. Even though she didn't speak much I felt a warming connection to her and the culture. By the time it was time for us to go, she cried, and I couldn't help but imagine what was going through her head. She lost her parents and now she was losing a new father like figure of a friend. So wherever you are these days lil buddy, I hope all is well for you...
Doing all the community service in Santo Domingo was amazing, and a bit emotional as well. But don't get me wrong, it was not all work and no play, you know how EF gets down! When I wasn't doing community service I was either chilling beach side having a drink, or chillen with my Dominican takedownable Karen...who was oh so goodmoney. Now being a master of several languages (spanish, japanese, portuguese, EF-slang) I knew that the DR was the perfect place to really test my Spanish out. So I did, it was actually how I met Karen one day on the beach. Not to mention I am somehow able to pass for Dominican/Brazilian fairly easily. So I'm walking around the hotel beach bar pool area, and see shorty chillin catching some sun on a beach chair. Now keep in mind this trip occurred when I was 15 during a time when jerseys and headbands were poppin. So I thought I was dead fresh in my bullets jersey, NBA headband, ice watch, red Madness shorts and Hi-teck water shoes to match. I thought I was really doin it! And apparently shorty thought the same because when I breezed by her and said "hola, creo que eres muy bonita" she looked me up and down and said "gracias, something in spanish that sounds sexy as hell?" I was kind of momentarily mesmorized by her takedownability and froze up, then she goes "you from the states aren't you" and I'm like "oh sh*t, you speak good ass english" one thing lead to another and we're headed to the bar...
In the DR the drinking age is like 16, but really the bar tenders don't give a sh*t at the hotel. So they practically throw drinks and cocktails at you ALL day. So, the adult chaperones that had to accompany us in the trip new this all too well. Before we even hopped on the plane they made up promise not to "engage in illegal alcohol consumption in any way" and if we did we'd "be removed from the group and sent on the first plane back to DC". Now part of being a business man is knowing what power you have and what cards you hold. I knew that my pops was in charge of this entire damn operation...so I knew off jump that no one could fux with me...period! So that day me and Karen hit the beach bar, I scope the scene to make sure there are no chaperones in sight just to avoid getting pressed. I tell the bar tender "amigo! dos cocktails", and like a hawk swooping on a field mouse chaperone #4386 Carlos Botts caught me!He goes..."you know you aren't allowed to be drinking alcohol, you're a good kid but I have to report this" and being me I go "hey, you really gonna do this in front of the beautiful lady? gimmie a break Carlos" "what are you gonna do tell my dad, its pointless, I told him I was gonna drink down here regardless of your rules". Karen gave me the "sh*t lets just link up later sign and got out of dodge. Carlos looked at me surprised and annoyed, "finish your drink, but I have to report this either way, and yea I know you won't get in trouble so let's just get this over with"
They sat me down and had a huge group meeting with all the chaperones, and made me stand up and apologize in front of the whole group..."im sry guys I should not have been illegally consuming alcohol...but when ya high five ya make money baby!" I kind of deterred from the apology they told me to say and the chaperones were furious...but sh*t what could they do? I met up with Karen later that night and told her I'd write her once I got back to DC. Sorry I havn't kept in touch Karen, wherever you are in this world, there's a spot on the DCBG Takedownables team for you!
