Bansky's art is the type you either love or hate, there is no middle ground. An English director put together a documentary about Bansky. This documentary looks pretty interesting. It combines the public opinion of his political statements and what the thoughts are behind his work. There's no word yet on a release date but we'll keep you posted. Check out the trailer below.

New NeckFace Mural in LA

Barracuda recently commissioned graffiti Artist Neckface to create a mural on one of the shops walls. The best part of this is that Neckface only charged the 148 dollars the paint cost, Neckface could have easily demanded a large commission. The resulting mural is pretty cool. I especially like the "I'm creeping while your sleeping" title. The Mural is located at 7769 Melrose Ave in L.A. Its across the street from Brooklyn Projects and Fairfax Highschool. Check it out if your in the area. Teleport for pictures of the artist at work.

Gun control has always been a controversial issue in America. Do you allow people to peruse there constitutional right to bare arms? Or do you restrict it to increase safety and reduce violent crimes? Regardless of your view on gun control the Armed America: Portraits of U.S. Gun Owners photo book gives you a look at the average gun owner. It's not all drug dealers and hicks. You can cop the book here for about six dollars. Teleport for more pictures.

Kaws "Warm Regards" Bar
The latest toy from Original Fake is the "Warm Regards" bar. It is based on his Warm Regards mural that he designed for the Beautiful Losers’ exhibit. Its interesting that the character is a piece of poop and that Kaws put them on a stick. Is Kaws trying to send a message? The Bars have recently been posted on the Original Fake website so their release should be soon.

Oliver Fader and Ando: Photographic Work at Stussy SF
White Walls Gallery and Stussy present photographic works by Oliver Fader and Ando. The artist reception will be held at Stussy in San Francisco (1409 Haight Street) this Saturday, January 24th, 2009 from 8 – 11pm, and the show will run until the end of February.
Both Oliver and Ando were born and raised in San Francisco and continue to live and work in the area. Ando’s work represents San Francisco’s skate scene. He experiments with various media and photographic developments but takes his photos a step further through the use of digital media.
Oliver Fader is currently enrolled as a painting major at SFAI and also pursues photography in his spare time. Like Ando, the skate scene is a big influence on Oliver’s photojournalistic work.

Broken Fingaz Crew Artistically Express Outrage About Violence In Israel
Peep this new poster by Broken Fingaz, one of the first graffiti crews formed in Israel. The crew is now located in Haifa, with its members also working in other fields such as graphic design, plush toy creation, and t-shirt design, and the crew even has its own graffiti shop and gallery. They also have very strong feelings, understandably, about the current state of affairs in their home country.“This is a new poster we just made, reflecting our feelings about the not so happy New Year here in Israel,” they wrote us. “We don't normally mess with politics but things are kinda shitty here right now. […] More then 1,000 people died in 20 days.”
Although somewhat solemn, this is a necessary and timely reminder of the ongoing violence still ripping through the Middle East, and particularly in Israel right now. If you’re heads not in the news about the conflict in Gaza, learn about the fighting going on between Israel and Hamas militants ( knowledge). In any case, this collaboration was made by Tant, Kip and Unga of Broken Fingaz and it's dope because is sends a powerful message, definitely reminds me of Akira imagery. Ron English, Master Of Popaganda
Ron English, the modern master of Popaganda sat down with Upper Playground and FIFTY24SF for an interview feature in The Run UP. Peep the video, courtesy of Walrus TV, to hear English’s views on censorship and commercialism, and its relationship to public space. You'll find his viewpoint to be quite interesting. You can also hear straight from the horses mouth about getting sued, spending weekends in jail and his move from billboard to canvas, and how that has shaped his work. Definitely a dope watch, enjoy:

Bansky Peice Destroyed In Jamaica
Four years ago when Bansky visited Jamaica he created this piece. Unfortunately it was recently cut down. I hate seeing art covered up or torn down like this. This destruction was captured on camera, check out the video. The Afflicted Yard: The Rock from Rickards Bros. on Vimeo.

Doodah Skinnymodel Skateboards
Our friends from Doodah have recently come out with a Skinnymodel Skateboard series in collaboration with fashion photographers Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer, who have both been working in recent years with Vogue Paris, i-D Magazine and other well respected fashion magazines. Sadly there is only one joint I'd take down, but the four decks lined up would make some dope artwork in the crib. Maybe a table or bench of some sort.
The series will be featuring Isabeli Fontana, Lara Stone, Toni Garrn and Edita. Limited to 150 pieces worldwide, the decks are now available.

Coloreruptions by Stephanie Toppin
The Coloreruptions collection by Stephanie Toppin is absolutley amazing. The multi-piece collection combines the graffiti drip style with a classic abstract look and stunning colors. This is the type of art you buy to hang in the crib. I'm going to start looking for prints immediately. I must have at least one piece of this collection. Teleport to check out more of the collection.

You can check out the full collection here.
