This is a brand new section of the blog. Dedicated to classic gear. Recently I gave away all my gear, and most of my kicks...I just felt like my collection was way too mainstream. I cleared out the closet, and replaced it with classic pieces of clothing. Let me define what I mean when I say "classic". Classic gear: shoes/clothing/outerwear items that transcend time and trend. It's gear you coulda rocked in the 90's and still can rock today or in the distant future. Pieces that everyone looks at in awe and amazement that you have them. For example the ObamaMania t-shirts by DFFRNT WRLD are classic t-shirts because when will you see our generation involved in a political race of this magnitude ever again?!? Also they will be discontinued after the voting booths close. From this day forward I encourage you all to say f*ck trends...I rock straight classics!
For todays classic items, I present you with these Vans. Take a look at the first pair, then teleport to see the others and read why they are classics that should be in your collection forever.
Taka Hayashi is one artist we have great respect for. He has been doing amazing work for Stussy and Vans in the past, as well as his own line Destroy your Enemy. His style is everything hand drawn and very detailed. Each pair has that perfect touch of hardass Japanese twist and Cali skate steez. This Special Vans X TAKA Pack, still has that clean and sharp black white look, but OD detailing thoughout!! Check the pics closely and be amazed at the craftsmenship of each piece. The Sole is actually taken from the pre-Authentic Vans modell the "44", the OG deck sole.. flat but with a flexy grippy pattern.. and again the leather material and expert work put into these shows his mastercraft as designer and artist!! These are true classics...cop them hereThis time he's gone very tactile with this three shoes pack! The model is a Owens Hi, and it features super nice details like fur, a lace cover panel, embroidery and the original Vans sole for that exelent grip on wet surfaces!
