Sarah Palin: McCain Elects Miss Congeniality As VP

John McCain announced today that former beauty queen and Alaskan governor Sarah Palin will be his running mate in his 2008 bid for the presidency. She has thrilled the nation with her sexy ways and now plans to help run our nation...hhmmm Let’s break this down simply for our busy EF lifestyle readers into what this means for the Obama campaign...teleport for a thorough analysis:

This was a strategic move on McCain’s part in terms of transforming his campaign from an old fogy, run-of-the-mill Republican campaign into one that can compete with Obama’s historic run. Although Palin is not the first VP nominee for a major party, she is the first female Republican nominee for VP. She is young, 44, and is not apart of the Washington crony scene. This seems largely a reaction to the Democrats labeling McCain as “more of the same.” Yes, McCain, this certainly is an unusual choice…
class="fullpost">That said, her nomination is in direct rebuttal to one of McCain and the Republican’s largest criticisms of Obama: that he has very little experience. Before being elected to the governorship two years ago, Palin was mayor of Wassilla (population 5,470) and had a failed run for Lieutenant Governor. McCain celebrated his 72 birthday and there is a greater chance that his running mate will be sitting in the oval office someday. McCain may have chosen one of the few people who Obama can criticize for having too little experience.

This will put an end to McCain’s uproar about Obama’s inexperience, but lets be serious, while a beauty queen can't overshadow the excellent speech given by Obama last night, it may sway some angry Hillary voters

As a keen supporter of ObamaMania, it comes as no surprise Shepard Fairey is in attendance at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. Over the last few days, a few of his works have been documented as he shows how our generation can contribute to changing our nation.

A Future President We Can Be Proud Of

After all of the speculation and spin, Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama delivered his acceptance speech at Invesco Field in Denver, CO to a crowd of over 80,000 people. His candor and eloquence were matched by a harsh rebuke of George W. Bush and John McCain as well as a detailed look into the policies he will enact. "We love this country too much to let the next four years look just like the last eight" said Obama. The speech came on the 45th anniversary of the march on Washington, where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I have a dream" speech. Perhaps the greatest strength of the speech was Obama's ability to answer the accusations and criticism that has been hurled his way in the last few weeks. Teleport for the FULL SPEECH

The oration and rhetoric of the speech moved many in the crowd to tears as they waved their American flags and Obama was able to capitalize on the themes of "Change we can believe in" and "Restoring America's promise." His specific focus on the economy included a tax cut for 95% of working families, a tax code that "doesn't reward the lobbyists who wrote it, but the American workers and small businesses who deserve it," stopping tax breaks to corporations sending jobs overseas, and giving them to companies that create them in the U.S., the elimination of capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-ups creating high-wage, high-tech jobs, and the end of America's addiction to oil from the Middle East within 10 years. After a convention with so many incredible speeches, Obama truly lived up to the hype and exceeded expectations-bring on the debates….

Ron English After The Democratic National Convention

On the final day of the Democratic National Convention, Ron English (creator of the now iconic Abraham Obama poster image) offered to share his thoughts with the world on politics and his involvement with The Manifest Hope Gallery in Denver. Housed within the Andenken Gallery (2990 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205) and an additional adjacent warehouse, The Manifest Hope Gallery is now closed...but Ron English's two cents are just as good.

One of the most famous graffiti artist, Bansky, has recently come Stateside. Bansky's signature provocative political works have been spotted in New Orleans. Bansky tagged a total of eight buildings during his visit. The best part of Bansky's works are interpreting them. I only hope Bansky comes through D.C. and leaves us some of his work. Out of the N.O. collection my favorites are the Simpsons one and the No Loitering one, they're both crack.Teleport for more pics.

New Kanye Video: Good Morning

Kanye's latest album which released last year had an original cover designed by Takashi Murakami. Kanye Teamed up with Murakami again to create the video for Good Morning. Directed by Kanye the video takes place in a world created by Murakami. Its a brilliant video, I especially like the Delorian from Back to the Future 2. What do you think about the video?

If you say you "get fresh" you should own these.
Sry Charlz...unless you’ve declared an alternate nationality, you won’t be able to grab these Grecos dropping this Fall. As you may have noticed, they are inspired by Mexican wrestling and those Rey Mysterio Lucha Libre masks. The ladies are given yet another gem from the urban sportswear division.

Michelle Obama: It’s All in the Family

Last night at the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama delivered what was hailed by the press as the most important speech of her life. Amid extremely high expectation, most political commentators including CNN conceded she “got the job done.” While her speech was meant to humanize Barack with stories of how they first met, driving home newly born children from the hospital, and a life together in public service, the most important offshoot of last night was that she was able to humanize herself. Glamorous and eloquent, she rocked the Pepsi Center, even if she didn’t manage to knock the socks (or bowties) off the press. Teleport to watch the full speech

Michelle’s speech reminds us that we are in an era of change and that also means that it’s time for a new brand of first lady. We can say goodbye to the casserole pedaling, brownie making first lady and hello community activist, career woman, and mother who can give a killer speech. Criticized for not showing what Barack is like in his daily life, I’d have to ask the press, what did you want her to do? Tell us what he looks like when he’s flossing? Take a bite out of that, Cindy McCain.

Tech Tuesday: The Dunk Drive

Flash Drives have become a necessity in recent years. Never before has it been so convenient to carry important documents with you wherever you go. The design for Flash drives haven't really been that exciting until now. Nike has created the Dunk Drive as a part of the "Be True" campaign. The Dunk Drive is a low top dunk that separates into two parts, with the USB hidden in the toe box. Theres no word yet if there will be SB Dunk Drive's but a Tiffany Dunk Drive would be dope. For now it only comes in two colorways, one black and white and the other red and blue. Theres no set release date yet but well keep you posted. Teleport for more pics.

Major Music: Yung Texxus

Today we throw you a curve ball...most may not have heard of Yung Texxus' but his latest track is thorough. You may have noticed a lot of rappers venting, and giving their perspective on the hard times at hand in our country. Yes, it's that real, and Texxus shows that just because you're a rapper with money, it doesn't mean you don't have problems. This is a song most working people can relate to. It was produced by Tek-Neek and is featuring K.O. Enjoy that 1995 old-shcool Scarface vibe... check the track, and teleport to read his introspective blog, on upcoming issues with him and our country.

"Recently I've been in the studio workin on TA III "Throw Aways III" and I started working with a talented young singer named Kyle Owens, K.O. for short. And we came up with a song called "Every Day Problems" produced by my premier heat maker Tek Neek. Responsible for hits of mine like "Trill Thangz, and The Dope Game". The just of it is basically when life is beating you down, keep your faith, kick back, roll up and take a sip. The first verse, I speak from the perspective of the every day 9 to 5 type of guy struggling with bills and his relationship. The second verse comes from the perspective of a hustler dealing with the ills of street life. Both of these guys have something in common. They both struggle in their everyday life to survive. So whether you hustle or work a regular job, You can relate to this song. I felt like there was alot of music out with out any substance or meaning and people needed to hear something like this. I gave it that old 1995' Scarface kinda feel. I would of loved to put this on our album we did! " Scarface Presents: Green City Brand New Money" But, maybe next time...Well enjoy"
