2008 DNC A Preview Of What's To Come

The Democratic National Convention begins tonight and will take place through the 28th of August in Denver, Colorado. Conventions have become massive four day advertisements for candidates because of the ridiculous amount of media coverage they garner, but they still are vitally important for the political parties to project an image, display party unity, showcase their platform, and formally nominate their choices for president and VP. A multitude of delegates, officials, supporters, and observers will descend on Denver and Minneapolis- St. Paul and each day will have its own set of influential speakers. teleport for secret information

The DNC will open with quite a bang, as it has been announced that liberal icon Senator Ted Kennedy will make a dramatic appearance to speak just a few months after undergoing brain surgery. Tonight also includes Michelle Obama's speech. A strong, successful, independent woman, Michelle embodies the progress made in America on the 40th anniversary of Bobby Kennedy's assassination. Still what do the pundits and talking heads have to say about the hopeful first lady? Much of the talk has revolved around the Obama's not sharing "common American values" that voters can relate to and that voters still do not know enough about the Obama family. Of course these comments are rife with the kind of racial undertones that can be expected from conservative mouthpieces who have made their careers on promoting division and discrimination and 24 hour media outlets that have lost the integrity of true journalism.
The theme of the DNC will be "One Nation" and unity is definitely an important point for Obama to drive home. The divisive policies of Bush/Cheney have destroyed America's international credibility, mired us in debt and a failing economy, and sunk our country into an immoral war; its time for a change. The DNC chairman Howard Dean, House speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. are also on tap to speak tonight and our man Barack will give a satellite-feed address after his wife's speech. Throughout the DNC and RNC, EF will give updates on the places, people, and issues that matter for convention season 08.
