Brazil: Manda Bala

In case you didn't know the EF crew has a pad down in Rio de Janeiro. When we feel like going on a lil vacay, we'll head down, have a few caparinias, maybe some maconia then hit Ipanema! Rio is beautiful, kind of like the South Beach of the US. It's counterpart would be Sao Paulo, the equivalent of New York. Similar to parts of NY, Sao Paulo is on some OD dangerous type shit, the body snatchers are plentiful. Luckily I kind of blend in with the Brazilieros, so I had no trouble! Peep the trailer for this newly released DVD Manda Bala (Send A Bullet). The thought-provoking Brazilian documentary previewed at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival (where it was named the Grand Jury Prize Winner). The film is centered around several people’s stories to show how dirty cops and politicians have lead to an explosion of kidnappings for bread. As a result safety issues caused a boom in the protection, prevention and plastic surgery industries. Yup, plastic surgery, you get sliced up quick in Sao Paulo, uh oh, better get Macco!
