Obama Is In The Building, Welcome To DC

This is pretty cool, Barack Obama has made the move from Chi-town to The District! It's wild the dude lives 5min from EF headquarters, we could walk to his crib! Obama arrived at the Hay Adams shortly before 8 p.m. last night traveling west on H Street from 14th, and though uniformed officers from the Secret Service moved people a block away from the hotel, you were still able to get a shot of Obama cruising in the limousine with one of his top aides. Who appears to be David Axelrod. The brotha defines cool, stylin in the limo. Welcome to DC Mr. President, feel free to stop by the EF offices anytime! teleport for full story

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and other city officials are ready to welcome President-elect Barack Obama and his family to the city.

"What I am going to do is whatever they need me to do," Fenty said. "I am like every other American who feels that the country's future is so bright under President Obama and he should know ... whatever he needs to make his administration and this country more successful we will do it."

D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton said, "He will be just like us. Going to school on the first day of the second semester just like we are, and he is going to feel right at home here. He is not going to feel like a fish out of water, it will be like Chicago, a home away from home here in DC, and I think that we will feel his presence in many ways."

D.C. Council member Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) noted, "Obviously, this is a great day in Washington, in the nation and in the history of the world for Barack Obama to be sworn in on January 20th, but some people tend to forget that [it] just didn't happen. People went to jail, a lot of people got shot at, a lot of people died for us to have the right to vote."
