Fashion Sense: Jovovich Hawk

Off the top of my head, I could list a solid number of places I love to go for various reasons. But of all places, Target (Targét) is my Mecca. Although WWD reported that Target sales were declining indirectly proportionately to Wal-Mart’s rising sales, Target will remain a favorite.
But the reason I’m bringing up Target now- as of today the newest designers of their Go International series have hit the bullseye with their collection of skirts, dresses, shorts, tops, and swim suits. Introducing Jovovitch-Hawk, this highly anticipated collection for Target by designer Carmen Hawk and (actress-singer-supermodel)-designer Milla Jovovich.

Some of the styles are available on Target’s website, other items claim availability within a few weeks. But the Go International collections in the past have always gotten new styles over the two-month period they are available, but sold out very quickly. The clothes and accessories should be in stores today as well- but like always, keep checking back. Target always has more than one surprise up its sleeve.

PS- Not so in love with Jovovitch-Hawk? How about Converse One Star clothing (surprisingly so cute) or Loeffler Randall shoes (one word: rosettes) and handbags (somewhat reminiscent of Bottega Veneta weaving)? Not to mention, this is Isaac Mizrahi’s last year at Target, as he is joining Liz Claiborne to design and revamp their women’s line. Isaac’s Target collections will be in stores throughout 2008, after that- no more. Finally, keep on the lookout for Joy Gryson (designer of Gryson handbags and shoes, ex-Marc Jacobs handbag designer) to unveil her collection of handbags and accessories this year at Target.
