Smoke Bones

Here a nice home accessory by Neighborhood as part of their new collection - they created a skull & bones incense stand. It's now available here.

Fold Up N Go

MIT’s created their ideal version of transportation for those who’ve been watching too many RoboCop reruns on Spike TV—the RoboScooter. The super compact vehicle is entirely electric, with removable li-ion batteries; which is awesome, since gas prices are always on the rise. On the downside, it isn’t self-folding, the steering controls are traditional handlebars, and we doubt you’ll be able to blast the “Ruff Ryders Anthem” from the buggy since it doesn’t look like it’s equipped with an iPod hookup or any radio/music source for that matter. The RoboScooter is set to hit Asian markets as early as next year.

Major Music

Mr. Rich Yung himself got a new mixtape, it's called There Is No Competition. This is Fab's 1st mixtape with DJ Drama and its crack. The mix tape is full of dope beats and he lyrically assassinates every track. The track titled “Hustlers poster child” ft. Cassidy is a personal favorite, both artist gave it there all on that track. Fab called this mix tape “No Competition” because clearly, there's no competition. Listen or download some of the tracks and you be the judge???

Joe Buddens is another mixtape legend who recently released a new track. I don’t think Buddens is releasing another mixtape anytime soon because he recently released Mood Muzik 3, and those rumors of him signing to Shady records were put to rest. Until we hear something here is his latest track called “4 walls”. Eventhough this beat sounds like it should have been on American Gangster, Joe Buddens as usual didn’t disappoint.

More Proof That Times Are Tough

Consumer spending is threatening to stall out while consumer confidence, battered by soaring energy costs and falling home prices, has taken a steep nosedive.

Analysts said the two new reports Friday were just the latest danger signals that the country was edging perilously close to a recession.

The Commerce Department reported that spending posted a 0.4 percent rise in January, better than economists had been expecting. However, all of that gain came from a surge in inflation during the month.

Taking away the effect of rising prices, spending showed no gain in January, the second straight month that real spending failed to advance. Click the following link for full story:

There...GrrreeaaaT!

The House of Hoops in Harlem is back at it with another set of NIKEiD House of Hoops exclusive Dunks. As part of the most recent drop, NIKEiD released a "Tony the Tiger" inspired Nike Dunk High. The "Tony the Tiger" inspired NIKEiD Dunk High features a Blue Patent trim, with a White leather toebox and midpanel, and a Patent "Tony the Tiger" print heel/wings.You might as well call them the Frosted Flakes of the Dunk world. I stumbled upon these randomly, they only caught my attention for the back heel of the Dunk. Tony The Tiger inspiration is cool, the front of the shoe gets a bit dull though. Check them out.

More Words From Wayne

“But I’m going through that same sh– with my friends, with my mom. Everybody wants me to stop all this and all that. It ain’t that easy. Do your history, do your research. It ain’t that easy — feels like death in your stomach when you stop doing that sh–. You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox. You gotta do all kinds of stuff. Like I said, I’m a selfish-ass n—a. I feel like everything I do is successful and productive. It’s gonna be hard to tell me I’m slipping. It’s hard to sit and tell a n—a ‘Stop.’ ‘F—, how can we tell this n—a to stop when every f—ing thing he do is successful? This n—a is making progress. He just went and talked to kids and that sh– was amazing.’ Feel me? So what am I doing wrong?

“Let me do me. Everybody’s got their thing. Why focus on me? Don’t compare me to no one. Don’t compare me to no one who has passed, and why they passed. I can walk out this b—h right now and get hit by a bus. Don’t judge me. You wanna judge me, put on a black gown and get a gavel. Get in line with the rest of them that’s about to judge me. I got court dates every other month. It’s me against the world — that’s how I feel.”

From Recess to Recession!

U.S. stocks opened lower on Friday on worries the U.S. economy may be on the cusp of recession after disappointing quarterly results from American International Group Inc (AIG.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Dell Inc (DELL.O: Quote, Profile, Research). The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was down 134.33 points, or 1.07 percent, at 12,447.85. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was down 12.04 points, or 0.88 percent, at 1,355.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was down 22.54 points, or 0.97 percent, at 2,309.03. If you have money invested, it's smart to be bearish. Hopefully consumer spending will pick up as Summer approaches!

Cool and Mellow

Maharishi has released first pieces of their Spring/Summer 2008 footwear. Sold Out got in two new styles - colorful beige/pink design, with details including wooden beads and embroideries. The colors are...well let's just say the crisp clean cut makes this shoe wearable. Hard to pull off if your dress game is under par.

Next Up In Dubai

We all know Dubai is OD...they are constantly outdoing the US in their architectural innovation. Here is what's up next for development, a new hotel 382 rooms and 35 floors, this is out of this world!

Shoe Chandelier

Sneakers hanging from telephone lines has long been an iconic image of urban life—which is why it inspired designers Peter Pracilio and Oscar Lopez to develop this Shoe Chandelier. Why they chose to make a light out of it is unclear, but it has a very compelling weirdness about it. The good news is that all signs point to this design becoming a real-world product (in both chandelier and tabletop versions) sometime in the near future.

Color of Love

Featuring the works of 44 modern artists including Warhol, Hirst, Richter and more, "Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today" opens this Sunday, 2 March 2008 at MoMA. In essence the exhibit uses ready made color products such as car paint or tape to showcase the standardization of the commonly used color chart, and the way in which it restricts or promotes creativity with color.

"The exhibition examines two separate but related meanings of ready-made color: color as store-bought rather than hand-mixed, divorced from an artist's subjective taste or decisions; and color found and appropriated from everyday life—fluorescent bulbs, car color, or computer color, for example."

Head Porter 2 Tacs: Tim The Tool Man

Here are some interesting Chino khakis. The brand "2-Tacs" got together with Porter Japan for these.

“2-tacs” is a brand founded by stylist Ryoji Honma in 1998. This brand name comes from the concept which consists of two tactics; one is “remake of used clothes” and the other is “to give them special finish for each dresser”. The permanent theme of this brand is “super basic”. “2-tacs” focuses on elaborating such basic items such as work shirts and coach jackets that surfers and skaters like (2-tacs calls them “skafers”), and expands on that with vintage fabrics.

Thesw chinos stay basic in terms of look, but feature an integrated Porter waist bag, making them more practical that a usual chino. They are available in black and khaki. It seems these would be used more for those involved in construction?

They Really Are Taking Over!

Google Inc (GOOG.O: Quote, Profile, Research) has unveiled a plan to help U.S. patients gain control of their medical records and is working with doctors' groups, pharmacies and labs to help them securely share sensitive health data.

The company's long-rumored entry into the highly sensitive field came when Chief Executive Eric Schmidt introduced Google Health at a health-care conference in Florida on Thursday.

Google said it has signed deals with hospitals and companies including medical tester Quest Diagnostics Inc (DGX.N: Quote, Profile, Research), health insurer Aetna Inc (AET.N: Quote, Profile, Research), Walgreens (WAG.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Walmart Stores Inc (WMT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) pharmacies.

The password-protected Web service stores health records on Google computers, with a medical services directory that lets users import doctors' records, drug history and test results.

Texas New Balance Massacre

Here's a little something for all my people down in H-town. I know it's been a minute since Scream tour, but I'm still showing love! Just a few weeks before SXSW, New Balance is throwing a sneaker launch party at Austin’s Motive807. In true Austin form, there will be live music and drank to compliment the good times.

BJ Betts aka Cubanbee will be tattooing live in store as well on the 29th and 1st of March. The Launch Party will run from 9PM - Midnightish in store at Motive, but be sure to RSVP by calling the store to get on the list.

Panning For Gold

Gold Coin is set to release its spring collection. Consisting of a wide range of tees, crewnecks, caps, denim, and more, the collection will be in stores late March. How much would you pay for a stuffed gold chain like that?

NIKE ACG DUNK On and Offs

Although this is just a concept right now, cross your fingers in hopes that this shoe will soon release. The shoe has been developed as part of the Nike Considered line and is thus manufactured in environment friendly materials and also features a flap on the heel, which let's you wear the shoe with flap up like a normal dunks, or flap down like on and offs. This is what you'd rock in Barbados, just chillen.

word from ally: FALL FASHION’S FIRST LOOK

Following fashion week was the official kick-off to fall fashion, as buyers gathered together in NYC and Vegas for the biggest trade shows of the year, Magic and Coterie. Retailers pulled out all the stops in an effort to boost morale within the industry’s recent slump in sales over the past 4 months.
Though this year’s Coterie didn’t allow for customized booths, Rock & Republic, True Religion & Juicy Couture [whose booths are always crack] managed to make up for the lack in visual creativity. Rock & Republic had a personal DJ accompanied with plasma screens showing their fall fashion show and Juicy kept it's cool image by making their booth out to be a night club, complete with a bouncer and all. Also seen bumpin around the show in NY were Project Runway alums, Kara Janx [who’s line of flirty party dresses are definitely showing up in my closet], Kevin Christensen, and season 3 winner Jeffery Sebelia, who showcased his Costra Nostra line.

Downside? The overall undertone felt among brands resonates the feeling in the stores-lack of sales. “The Big Show” was a ghost town for US buyers, whom due to a poor fall & pre-spring season are scared to do the numbers their used to. Help them out by going out and supporting your favorite brands!!

xoxo

Boardmaster, The Movie

This goes to show that material possessions mean nothing. These kids, had nothing, but found happiness in skating. Check out the video, you'll be a bit more thankful for those kicks, and threads you have. By the way, you'll love the special effects!

Vans Skate on Water With These Aquas

Anthony Van Engelen is dope, here’s a peek of his latest shoe. He teamed up with vans to make this beauty. Pictured above is the snorkel blue color-way. If you look closely toward the back, you’ll see two bones and two lightning bolts intersecting, it's like a hidden detail gift! What I really like is how the red coloring on the tongue contrast with the Aqua color, great unintentional color combo.

Revenge Of The NERDs

Chad and Pharell hit up the David Letterman Show last night. They are doing a little promotion for their NERD tour coming up. Check em out, BBC swag in full effect.

Head Cases

Honeyee in Japan presents the latest range of iPod Nano cases by Head Porter. If you're not too keen on the generic Apple cases check these out. They present a classic closed case, this joint almost look like a change purse wallet. As you can see there 6 color-ways, solid colors, but also a polka dot, safari and zebra version.

The most interesting piece is the simplistic iPod Nano Holder, it looks like a restricter. The piece represents the simplicity and functionality made popular by Head Porter.
