Color of Love

Featuring the works of 44 modern artists including Warhol, Hirst, Richter and more, "Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today" opens this Sunday, 2 March 2008 at MoMA. In essence the exhibit uses ready made color products such as car paint or tape to showcase the standardization of the commonly used color chart, and the way in which it restricts or promotes creativity with color.

"The exhibition examines two separate but related meanings of ready-made color: color as store-bought rather than hand-mixed, divorced from an artist's subjective taste or decisions; and color found and appropriated from everyday life—fluorescent bulbs, car color, or computer color, for example."
