Staple Design x New Balance 575 Pigeon

Mention the Pigeon to any sneakerhead and they will instantly know what you are talking about. Its been almost three years since the release of the Nike SB Pigeon Dunk caused mass hysteria on the streets of NY and Jeff Staple is about to do it again. The success of the original Nike SB Pigeon makes me wonder how this collaboration between Staple Design and New Balance will turn out. Will the New Balance 575 Pigeon have people camping out just to cop a pair? Are You Ladies About Love Or Money?

New Balance is preparing to release these fly kicks for the ladies. Cleverly stitched on the tongue of the shoes is the question I'm sure every guy with bread wonders..."is wifey in it FOR LOVE OR MONEY". These shoes are extremely exclusive, detail includes star mold lace slots, bubblegum bottom, and a crazy color scheme. These are priced at about $255.00, check the Japanese site here for more info.

New Newbies

New Balance has always been a classic shoe for DC natives. The 991 is a DC cult classic, but here's an alternative that I know DC will love. We present to you the fresh new kicks from New Balance. The rollbar on these MT580s are a little chunkier, while the upper consists of a mix of leather and mesh. Clearly these are summer kicks, just some chill joints to rock on a easy day.

Here are a few terms we actively use in our blog. We want to make sure our readers understand our slang, it just makes the experience more enjoyable.

OD - This term stands for "Over Dose". It means when something is crazy wild in a good way, or too extra in a bad way. Walking down the DC streets wearing Teva sandals, socks, and shorts in the winter time is OD! In the same respect, the new Mercedes Benz C63AMG is OD!

Dope - We use this quite a bit when talking about a product or movie, it's just another word for cool

Crack - Not as controversial as it sounds, we use "crack' to describe something that is just out of this world fresh. We may say something like: That new EF post is CRACK!!

Went In - When a rapper shows extreme lyrical ability in a verse or whole track.

Rastio Lyool - A close friend to the EF family. Originally from Africa Rastio migrated from Jamaica to Brooklyn, NY. He played a large role in the "eh doesn't affect me" movement of the 90's. Rastio is like Tommy off Martin, ya digg.

Fux With It - We use this when referencing something we really like. If your in Stussy or CmonWealth and you see a crack pair of kicks you'd say: "oh these are crack, I fux with them"!

Huff - use this when you talk about something WACK...Like if you see dude rocking some Kool-aid Reeboks, you'd say "damn, his shoe game is HUFF" you can also use the term to describe when you get carried. So if you're talking to a shorty, and you ask for her number, she looks you up and down, blinks 3 times and walks away...you got HUFFED!

Teleport - This converts a person or object into an energy pattern (a process called dematerialization), then "teleports" it to a target, where it is reconverted into matter (rematerialization)...in short it lets you read the full post

Takedownables - This is a new term DCBG created to describe dimes or beautiful women who are simply irresistible, and therefore must be taken down accordingly. Being a takedownable is the ultimate status and compliment, better than winning Ms. Universe or World's Sexiest Woman.
